Anglo-Saxon treasure

I started listening to Michael Drout's lectures on the History of the Anglo-Saxons, presented by Modern Scholar. I've listened to Drout's History of English Language, and several lectures he has presented on Tolkien. Its an understatement to say he's a brilliant scholar and professor, but his enthusiasm and energy make him remarkably easy to listen to. Really livens up doing the dishes :). Images of Anglo-Saxon treasure have been coursing through my mind while listening to the lectures, and I thought it would be good enough reason to write a post on Anglo-Saxon art.
