Medieval History
Call for Papers: Regional Medievalisms
I am happy to announce:
REGIONAL MEDIEVALISMS
The 23rd Annual Conference on Medievalism
International Society for Studies in Medievalism
October 9th -11th, 2008
Wesleyan College: Macon, Georgia
http://moria.wesleyancollege.edu/faculty/akaufman/regionalmedievalisms
Papers will be welcome on all aspects of medievalism, but we are especially interested in submissions that focus on the medievalism of a particular time and place. The 19th Century American South, World War II Germany, and contemporary Japan, for instance, all 'get medieval' differently. At this conference we hope to explore how and why the medieval is put to to work to create culturally specific meaning.
The deadline for abstracts is April 15, 2008.
The full CFP and additional information about the conference can be found at our website, linked above. I will be updating the site with information about registration, travel, and accomodations in the coming months, and I will also post important updates and reminders here.
If you have any questions or you would like any additional information, please contact me at
[email protected].
I hope to see you in October!
